(April 2 - New York, NY)
The NBC Universal television stations and the National Stroke Association will join forces to address the nation’s third leading cause of death in a compelling new special Brain Attack: A Stroke Survival Guide. The show will air April 14 and 15 on NBC’s owned-and-operated stations and at various times and dates on select NBC affiliates (check local listings).
Narrated by Today’s Al Roker and produced by Al Roker Entertainment, Inc., this one-hour special provides in-depth information on stroke prevention, warning signs and the latest treatment options. The show features interviews with several leading stroke experts and shares compelling stories from stroke survivors, including celebrities Della Reese, Mark McEwen and Leann Hendrix, Miss Arizona 1998, who suffered a massive stroke in 2002 at the age of 26.
“We hope that this show will move viewers to reduce their own risk factors for a stroke and come away with a better understanding of a medical condition that affects people of all ages,” said Al Roker, executive producer. “We are delighted to have the support of the National Stroke Association on this important project.”
